How to deposit cash into your account using a barcode?

Steps to deposit cash without your physical card:

  1. Sign in to your Común account.

  2. In the app, go to "Move Money," choose "Deposit Cash," and select your preferred store.

  3. After choosing the location, click "view barcode" if that store allows barcode deposits. You can only generate a barcode for a store within 15 miles of your current location.

  4. Take the barcode to the store checkout and show your government ID (from any country) in case the cashier needs to verify your identity before scanning.

  5. The cashier will scan the barcode and ask how much money you want to deposit into your account.

  6. Tell the cashier the amount you want to deposit — and you’re done! 🚀

⏱️ Recommendations

  • Your barcode is valid for 15 minutes

  • Make sure you’re already at the store before generating it

  • If there’s a line, generate the barcode while you wait so it doesn’t expire

  • You can generate a new barcode as many times as needed


💵 Limits

  • Minimum: $5

  • Maximum: usually $500 per transaction

  • Some stores may allow up to $1,000

🚫 The store says I can’t deposit

All locations shown in the app should accept deposits.

If a cashier tells you it’s not possible:

  1. Ask for a receipt or written confirmation

  2. Contact the Común team right away through the app

You can deposit using a barcode (no card needed) at these stores:

  • Dollar General

  • 7-Eleven

  • Walgreens

  • Family Dollar

  • CVS Pharmacy

  • Walmart (service desk or money center)

  • Speedway

  • GameStop

  • Stripes

🪪 ID requirement (important)

If you deposit more than $300 at:

  • Walgreens

  • Walmart

You’ll need to show a valid ID.

Accepted IDs:

  • U.S. government-issued ID

  • Valid passport (any country)
