Steps to deposit cash without your physical card:
Sign in to your Común account.
In the app, go to "Move Money," choose "Deposit Cash," and select your preferred store.
After choosing the location, click "view barcode" if that store allows barcode deposits. You can only generate a barcode for a store within 15 miles of your current location.
Take the barcode to the store checkout and show your government ID (from any country) in case the cashier needs to verify your identity before scanning.
The cashier will scan the barcode and ask how much money you want to deposit into your account.
Tell the cashier the amount you want to deposit — and you’re done! 🚀
Recommendations:
The barcode is valid for 15 minutes. Make sure you’re at the store before generating it in the app. If there’s a long line, generate the barcode while you wait so it doesn’t expire before you reach the register. You can generate as many new barcodes as you need.
Limits:
Minimum $5 and typically maximum $500 per transaction (some stores allow up to $1,000). You can view the store’s limit in the app.
They tell me at the store that I can’t deposit:
All customers should be able to deposit at locations shown in the app. If the cashier says it’s not possible, ask for a receipt confirming that and urgently escalate it to the Común team.
How can I see this in the Común app?
