💼 Direct Deposit & Payroll

Direct deposits such as payroll, government payments, or tax refunds usually take up to 5 business days after the sender initiates the transfer.

First direct deposit

Your very first direct deposit into Común may take longer than normal and could arrive during your employer’s next pay cycle.

👉 This only happens the first time. Future deposits should follow the regular timeline.

How to set up direct deposit

  1. Open the Común app

  2. Go to Move Money

  3. Select Automatically deposit income

🌎 International Remittances

🏦 Bank transfer remittances

Remittances sent to bank accounts in Latin America usually arrive within 30 minutes after the transfer is confirmed.

Timing may vary depending on the receiving bank.

💵 Cash pickup remittances

Cash pickup times vary by country and pickup location.

Typical timing

  • Usually available within a few hours

  • In some cases, it may take up to 1 business day

Important

  • The recipient must present a valid government-issued ID

  • If the cash is not picked up within 7 days, the remittance will be canceled and refunded to your Común balance

⏳ If a remittance is delayed

Sometimes a remittance may be placed under review for security reasons.

If this happens, Común may email the sender requesting additional information.

👉 Responding quickly helps avoid further delays.

📄 Mobile Check Deposits

Mobile check deposits usually take 3–6 business days to process after submission.

During this time, the deposit will appear as pending.

Common reasons a check may be rejected

  • Missing or incorrect endorsement

  • Name mismatch

  • Duplicate deposit

  • Expired check

If your check is rejected, you’ll receive an email explaining the reason.

💳 Merchant Refunds

Refunds issued by merchants can take up to 7 business days to appear in your Común account.

This timing depends on the merchant and card network and cannot be expedited by Común.

Important

  • If the refund has not arrived after 7 business days, you may file a dispute

  • If the merchant gave a longer timeline (for example 10–14 days), it’s best to wait until that timeframe passes first
