Updated over a week ago

🗺️ How can I send money to LATAM?

You can send money to friends or family across Latin America (except Venezuela, Dominican Republic, and Cuba) directly from your Común app or WhatsApp, starting at $2.99 per transfer.

✅ What you need to send money with Común:

  • Recipient’s full name (exactly as it appears on their official ID)

  • Recipient’s phone number

  • Recipient’s address (only if sending to a bank account)

  • Recipient’s bank account or CLABE (only if sending to a bank account)

📦 Ways to send money:

1. Cash pickup

No bank account needed 🙌

Your recipient can pick up the money at stores like:

  • Elektra

  • Oxxo

  • 7-Eleven

  • Soriana

  • Or even at a bank (if you choose that option)

They just need to bring a valid ID.

⏱️ The money is available in as little as 30 minutes after sending.

⚠️ Important: The name must match the ID exactly. If there’s a mistake, the money will be refunded to your account.

2. Send to a bank account

You can send money to different banks depending on the country — you’ll see available options in the app.

For example, in Mexico you can send to:

  • Banco Azteca

  • BBVA

  • Bancomer

  • Bancoppel, and more

You’ll need to enter the recipient’s account number or CLABE.

👉 Make sure this information is correct to avoid delays.
If there are errors, the money will be refunded.

⚠️ Current restrictions:

  • You can’t send money to accounts that only receive USD (must be local currency)

  • You can’t send money to minors
