What does my recipient need to do to receive the money?

It depends on whether you’re sending money to a store or to a bank account

Updated yesterday

🏪 If the money is picked up at a store:

  1. Wait a little: Your recipient can go to the store you selected 30 minutes after you send the money.

    • If it’s a chain (for example: Elektra, Banco Azteca, etc.), they can go to any branch of that chain.

  2. Show a valid government-issued ID:

    • This can be a driver’s license, passport, or national ID (INE).

    • If your recipient is not a citizen of the country where they’re picking up the money, they must present their passport (not a temporary residency card).

  3. Provide the transfer number:

    • They will need to show the transfer code you see in your app.

    • They’ll also receive this number on their phone through a notification or message.

⚠️ Important: The name you enter when sending money must match your recipient’s ID exactly. Otherwise, they won’t be able to pick up the money.

🏦 If the money is sent to a bank account:

  • The funds will be deposited directly and instantly into your recipient’s account.

  • You’ll need to enter:

    • The recipient’s bank account number

    • Full name

    • Address

👉 Double-check (or even triple-check!) the bank account number to make sure the transfer goes through smoothly.

💡 If an error happens with the transaction, we’ll refund your money.
