Understanding Transaction Statuses

All you need to know about your transactions status

Updated yesterday

What does it mean when a transaction is “pending”?

  • “Pending” means the funds have not yet been transferred from your account to the merchant’s account. It is a temporary hold while the merchant confirms your purchase.

  • Pending transactions usually take a few days to resolve, but this depends on the merchant. Most transactions are completed within 7 days and at most 30 days.

  • The amount of your pending transaction may be higher than the amount of your purchase. This can happen at gas stations, hotels, or car rental agencies. Don’t worry—once the transaction is completed, the merchant will only charge you the amount you actually spent. Here’s everything you need to know about these situations!

What does it mean if my transaction is “rejected”?

  • A transaction can be rejected for various reasons, such as an incorrect PIN, incorrect card information, insufficient funds, or an error with the point-of-sale payment system, among others.

  • Another reason may be our security rules designed to protect our Community’s funds. Sometimes these rules may decline transactions that might look suspicious, even if they are legitimate. If you want to file a report about this purchase, contact us. This helps us improve our security rules and prevent similar situations in the future.

What does it mean if my transaction is “completed”?

  • A “completed” transaction, or “settled,” means the payment process is finished. The funds have successfully moved from your account to the merchant’s account.
