Opening your Común account takes less than 5 minutes through the app — no paperwork or complicated process.
To keep your account secure, we verify 3 things:
Your ID belongs to you 🕵🏻♀️
You have a valid U.S. address 📍
You have a phone number where you can receive notifications 📲
Your information and immigration status are private. We do not share them with anyone, as long as your account is used responsibly and not for fraudulent or unauthorized activities.
Trouble verifying your ID?
Make sure:
You are using a valid ID from our accepted list.
Your ID is current and not expired.
You are taking a photo of the physical ID (not a copy or picture of a picture).
The photo is clear and well lit.
All information is readable, including:
Full name
Date of birth
Expiration date
You upload both the front and back of the ID.
The entire ID appears in the photo.
Your document is not heavily damaged.
If your ID cannot be verified, your application may be denied.
Trouble taking your selfie?
Make sure:
Your face is clearly visible with good lighting.
Your selfie matches the photo on your ID.
Trouble verifying your address?
You can verify your U.S. address in 2 ways:
Uploading a proof of address
Using your phone’s geolocation
Please note:
Your address must be a valid residential address in the U.S.
If you upload a document, it must be valid and under your name.
Trouble verifying your phone number?
We’ll send you a verification code by SMS.
To receive it successfully:
Make sure your phone can receive SMS from U.S. numbers.
Ensure your line is active and has signal.
Some carriers require phone credit to receive messages.
If you don’t receive the code:
Wait at least 15 minutes before requesting another one.
After the second attempt, you may see the option to receive the code through WhatsApp.
Your WhatsApp number must match the phone number on your Común account.
In some cases, codes may only be sent to your registered email address. If you no longer have access to that email, you’ll need to recover it or contact support.
If you still cannot receive the code, contact support through the in-app chat.
Why wasn’t I approved?
For security and regulatory reasons, some applications cannot be approved. Common reasons include:
You are under 18 years old.
Your ID could not be verified.
Your address is invalid or not residential.
Your proof of address is not under your name or is not accepted.
