How do I cancel my Común account?
You can request to close your account by contacting our team through the app.
Before we can process your closure request, we'll need to confirm a few things:
Your account balance must be $0. If you have funds available, you'll need to withdraw them or transfer them out first. If your remaining balance is under $1.00 and you're unable to withdraw, we can mail a check to your registered address (delivery takes 10–15 business days).
No pending activity. We can't close accounts that have pending remittances, pending transactions, pending checks, pending direct deposits, active investigations, open disputes, or a negative balance.
Once everything is clear, we'll verify your identity and process the closure.
How long does it take to close my account?
Once your identity is verified and there are no pending items on your account, the closure is processed promptly.
Can I reopen my account after closing it?
No, account closures are permanent. Once your account is closed, it cannot be reactivated, even if Común launches new products or features in the future.
What happens if I receive a payroll deposit after my account is closed?
If a direct deposit arrives after your account has been closed, our team will handle the reversal. Please contact our team through the app so we can assist you.
Can I request deletion of my personal information?
We'll review your request in accordance with applicable privacy laws and our Privacy Policy. Please note that certain information may be retained as required by law, including for regulatory, fraud prevention, or dispute resolution purposes.
To respect your privacy and address your request, we can remove non-essential personal data from our systems.
Additionally, we will take the following actions:
We will immediately stop using your data for marketing purposes.
We will delete non-essential personal information.
We will securely archive records that we are legally required to keep and automatically delete them once the legal retention period expires.
