When you add a new external debit card to your Común account to use Pay or send remittances, we’ll ask you to verify that you’re the owner of the card.
This verification helps us keep your account secure and protect your money.
How do I verify my card?
1️⃣ Add your external card from the app or web.
2️⃣ Común will automatically send a small deposit (less than $1) to the bank account linked to that card.
3️⃣ Log in to your bank’s app or online banking (the bank that issued your card).
4️⃣ Look for the deposit sent by Común.
It may appear as: “COMUN RCVD PYMT” or “COMUN NY NY”.
5️⃣ Go back to the Común app and enter the exact deposit amount.
If the amount matches, your card will be verified and ready to use. 💸
What is the microdeposit?
As part of the process, Común will send a small deposit (less than $1 USD) to the bank account associated with that card.
✨ That money is yours and will not be reversed. ✨
🚨 This is NOT a charge. You do not need to pay anything or make any deposit.
We send the money to your account to confirm that you are the cardholder.
Tips to find the deposit
The deposit appears under the name “Común.”
Check your most recent transactions.
It may appear as pending or completed.
If you see multiple deposits, enter the most recent amount.
If you can’t find it, contact your bank to make sure this type of transaction is enabled and check if they sent you any messages.
Is this process safe?
Yes 💚
