How do I verify my debit card?

Verify your new added cards to Pay

Updated this week

When you add a new external debit card to your Común account to use Pay or send remittances, we ask you to verify that you are the owner of the card. This step helps keep your account safe and protects your personal data.

As part of this process, Común sends you a micro-deposit (less than $1.00 USD) to the bank account linked to your card.

This deposit is yours to keep—it is not reversed.

Is this process secure?

Yes. We never ask for your banking password, login, or any sensitive information. Only you can see the micro-deposit in your bank account, and only you can confirm the amount in the Común app.

Your information is protected with strict security and privacy standards.

How do I verify my card?

  1. Add your external debit card from the Común app, web, or WhatsApp.

  2. Común will send a micro-deposit to the account associated with that card.

  3. Log into your bank’s mobile app or online banking.

  4. Look for the micro-deposit sent by Común.

  5. Return to the Común app and enter the exact amount of the deposit.

If the amount matches, your card will be successfully verified and ready to use. 💸
