Why can’t I verify my debit card?

Review this information to successfully add your debit card

Updated this week

The verification is done through a micro-deposit sent by Común to the bank account linked to your external card.

This process keeps you safe by confirming that you are the owner of the card—without sharing your banking information with anyone.

Is this secure?

Yes. Común never accesses your online banking or login credentials.
We only send a micro-deposit, and you confirm the amount directly from your account.

Your financial information stays private and protected at all times.

1. The micro-deposit hasn’t appeared yet

Some banks may take a few minutes to show the deposit.
We recommend waiting a couple of minutes.

2. The amount you entered didn’t match

You must enter the exact micro-deposit amount.

3. Your card may not be compatible

The following typically do not work:

  • Credit cards

  • Digital app cards (PayPal, Venmo, Cash App, etc.)

  • Prepaid cards that can’t receive micro-deposits

  • Cards without online banking access (you won’t be able to see the deposit)
